BTT 2025: Michigan vs. Wisconsin Recap

If the story of Michigan’s first two games in Indianapolis was returning to the fun, freeflowing style that defined this team early in the season, Sunday’s win over Wisconsin was about the perseverance this team built up in February and March without that offensive flow.

The Wolverines weren’t perfect. They didn’t play a great game. Nobody scored more than 11 points for the game, and Michigan trailed by 11 points in the second half. But somehow, someway, a group that probably never imagined themselves in Ann Arbor at this point last year held firm and willed its way to a Big Ten Tournament title.

The Wolverines found just enough in the tank to outlast and knock off Wisconsin. They hit the big shots, got key contributions from Will Tschetter and LJ Cason off the bench, and then buckled down and made plays in the clutch like they have all season.

The Big Ten Tournament isn’t the most important banner you can raise, but it’s hard to look at this week in Indianapolis as anything other than a credit to what Dusty May is building in Ann Arbor.

A week ago, this team was broken — losing its final three games by 43 points. May, his staff, and players found a way not just to get things back on track, but win the whole weekend. A credit to the leadership, coaching and maturity in the locker room from top to the bottom.
