The Atlanta Falcons said Sunday that defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich’s son was responsible for a prank call made to NFL draft pick Shedeur Sanders.The Falcons released a statement saying 21-year-old Jax Ulbrich “unintentionally came across the draft contact phone number for Shedeur Sanders off an open iPad while visiting his parents’ home and wrote the number down to later conduct a prank call.” Though Jax Ulbrich provided the number, he was sitting beside an unidentified friend who actually made the call to Sanders. The caller was wearing an Ole Miss shirt. According to Bleacher Report, Jax Ulbrich is a student at the University of Mississippi, which turned out not to be true. Jacob Batte, director of news and media relations for Ole Miss, said Jax Ulbrich does not attend the university.Sanders does have a connection to Mississippi through Jackson State University. He played football for his father, Deion Sanders, when the NFL great coached the Jackson State Tigers football team from 2020 to 2022 before becoming Colorado’s head coach, where his son was quarterback. Deion Sanders, known at JSU as Coach Prime, began his NFL career with the Falcons.Shedeur Sanders was perhaps the draft’s biggest story as he had to wait until the fifth round on Saturday before being drafted by the Cleveland Browns.
