Over 10 tornadoes identified in St. Louis region after Friday’s storm; where were they?

ST. LOUIS — As cleanup efforts begin after Friday’s storm, the National Weather Service continues to conduct surveys identifying the tornadoes throughout the St. Louis region. A final number has not been confirmed as surveys are ongoing.

FOX 2 meteorologist John Fuller says just short of a dozen tornadoes have been identified by the National Weather Service as these surveys continue.

NWS rated Bridgeton’s tornado as an EF-2 as several neighborhoods deal with uprooted trees and downed power lines.

According to the NWS, one of the first areas hit was Rolla, Missouri, was rated an EF-2 tornad with peak winds of 120 miles per hour in just eight minutes as it crossed over 8 and a half miles.

The Rolla tornado began about four miles southeast of Doolittle, Missouri, and continued through portions of southeast Rolla before crossing I-44 and lifting south of the Little Prairie Conservation Area. One death has been reported in relation to the storm on Friday.

About an hour northeast of Rolla, the NWS confirmed a tornado in Union, Missouri. Another three to four tornadoes were identified in Villa Ridge and along I-44 into Gray Summit, where Purina Farms experienced severe damage from the storm.

Morse Mill in Jefferson County also had a tornado with multiple structures damaged along Clayton Huskey Road. Many power outages still remain in Jefferson County as of Monday.

Over two hours south of St. Louis, NWS confirmed a tornado in Des Arc, Missouri, as an EF-3 tornado with six fatalities and four injuries reported.

About an hour and a half east of Des Arc, Perryville was also confirmed to have had a tornado on Friday in Perry County.
