Traffic lights out on William Penn Highway in Monroeville, Wilkins Township after powerful storm

Along William Penn Highway (Business 22) from Monroeville to Wilkins Township, several traffic lights were still not working Wednesday after severe storms caused widespread damage and power outages in western Pennsylvania.Watch the report from Monroeville in the video aboveDrivers navigated the road while workers in bucket trucks tried to get those traffic signals turned on again.Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 spoke with one person in Monroeville who said, “We had a massive tree come down on our deck. Our neighbors have trees that have come down. They have come down partially; entire roots have come down with the trees. There’s been retaining walls come down, streets blocked.”The National Weather Service said straight-line winds gusted up to 90 mph during the storms Tuesday night. Duquesne Light said over 200,000 customers in Allegheny County lost power, and full restoration could take five to seven days.

MONROEVILLE, Pa. —Along William Penn Highway (Business 22) from Monroeville to Wilkins Township, several traffic lights were still not working Wednesday after severe storms caused widespread damage and power outages in western Pennsylvania.
