T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas was full to the brim as boxing fans gathered to watch a thrilling card that included Inoue and Ramon Cardenas.
Sunday 4th May will be a night to remember in the world of boxing after Japanese Inoue bagged his 30th win in his 30th fight. The 32-year-old has held multiple world championships in four weight classes and is one of the three male boxers to become an undisputed champion in two weight classes. He’s also the first and only boxer to win the undisputed championship in the super bantamweight division. Since 2023, he has held all four major world titles.

“Naoya Inoue kept his composure after suffering an early knockdown in round two against Ramon Cardenas, before rallying back to secure a stoppage in round eight,” said The Ring Magazine on Instagram. Inoue said that he was surprised but was able to calmly keep himself together and make sure he wouldn’t take such a punch again. “Reminds me of Felix Trinidad, he would also get dropped and then win by knockout. Heart of a champion, Inoue is a special boxer,” said an Instagram user.
The Monster became the first Japanese boxer to be ranked number one in the world by The Ring Magazine in 2022 and the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board. In 2023, he was named the fighter of the year by the same magazine. He has won 27 of his fights via knockout, he has proven to be a master at it with his exceptional punching power, with almost 90% knockout win percentage.
His American opponent, Ramon, suffered his first loss, even though he sent a punch that knocked down Inoue in the second round. Inoue proved himself in the other rounds until the fight was stopped in the 8th round. The Americans were thrilled to have Inoue again since his last fight in the States in 2021. “The fact! Inoue and Cardenas saved the weekend, that’s a type of fight we wanted so much,” said an Instagram user. The fight lit up the weekend, and the fans couldn’t keep calm.
