St. John’s cruises to dominant March Madness win over Omaha to set up date with Arkansas

St. John’s flexed its muscles on Thursday night.

The Red Storm cruised to an 83-53 win over Omaha to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

They will face John Calipari’s Arkansas in the second round on Saturday.

Big East Player of the Year RJ Luis Jr. led the way for the Johnnies, scoring 22 points with eight rebounds and two assists.

After a slow start and a five-point lead after halftime, St. John’s played impressive all-around basketball in the second half to take over the game and punch a ticket to the second round.

The outscored Omaha 50-25 in the final 20 minutes.
