Tornado Watch issued for Escambia and Santa Rosa counties until 3 a.m.

Escambia and Santa Rosa counties are under a tornado watch along with the entire region until 3 a.m.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for areas covering South Alabama and Northwest Florida until 3 a.m. Sunday as storms were beginning to move into the area.

The watch means it’s possible for tornadoes to form in the area.

Multiple tornadoes have already been reported in Mississippi and Alabama from the line of thunderstorms that are moving across the South on Saturday.

The weather service said all forms of severe weather are possible, with strong to violent, long-track tornadoes being the main threat.
