Rourke apologized for his behavior in the diary room and then, later, offered an apology to Siwa. “I want to apologize. I’ve got a habit of having a short fuse,” he said, per Deadline. “And I don’t mean nothing by it. I do mean it [sorry]. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t say it to you.”
After their confrontation, Siwa was visibly upset while Hughes comforted her. Hughes, who would eventually be the subject of Rourke’s aggression, directly confronted Rourke for his comments toward Siwa, as well.
“You can’t do that, Mickey,” Hughes said. “You can’t say that, Mickey. You can’t say that.”
Rourke’s behavior toward Siwa prompted public statements from Siwa’s partner, Kath Ebbs, who said his comments were “rooted in misogyny and fucking violence” and that his declaration that he would tie up Siwa was a “rape joke.”

After news of the incident hit the internet, actress Bella Thorne opened up about an alleged experience working with Rourke while making their 2020 film Girl.

“I had to work with this man — In a scene where I’m on my knees with my hands zip tied around my back,” Thorne wrote on social media. “He’s supposed to take a metal grinder to my knee cap. Instead he used it on my genitals thru my jeans. Hitting them over and over again. I had bruises on my pelvic bone — Working with Mickey was one of the all time worst experiences of my life working as an actress.”
Prior to Rourke’s leaving, the Wrestler star faced the possibility of being “evicted” from the house. Siwa had been given the power to choose one of her housemates to be up for eviction, per People.
Rourke had been an issue even before entering the house. During his pre-entrance interview, the actor grabbed and ogled host AJ Odudu, which prompted Odudu to say “stop looking at me,” as well as co-host Will Best to say, “Careful, Mickey.”
