Opening Day is finally here, which means we have actual baseball after 147 days of waiting (with the exception of a couple games in Japan). If only MLB could have gotten its streaming service ready in time.
As fans logged into MLB.TV to watch the early games on Thursday, many encountered error messages on multiple devices and browsers. The league promotes MLB.TV as the only way for fans to watch out-of-market games, and yet, on the first day of the regular season, the league was caught totally unprepared for the demand.
Through the first hour of games, the issue wasn’t resolved — though MLB’s support Twitter/X account told users that it expected a resolution shortly.
Needless to say, fans were furious about the embarrassing technical issues. A serious league wouldn’t let this happen.
