The winner of the Big 12 Tournament will receive an automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

BYU is making its second appearance in Kansas City since joining the Big 12 in 2023. The Cougars, led by first-year head coach Kevin Young, are one of the hottest teams in college basketball, currently on an eight-game winning streak.

BYU finished the regular season with a record of 23-8 overall and 14-6 in Big 12 play.

Meanwhile, Utah will make their debut in the Big 12 Tournament on Tuesday when they face 14-seed UCF in the first round. The Utes, led by interim head coach Josh Eilert, finished 16-15 and 8-12 in league action.
