Marcel Hug of Switzerland won his eighth men’s wheelchair title on Monday — his third straight — in the first finish of the day. He finished unofficially in 1:21:34.
The United States’ Susannah Scaroni won the women’s wheelchair title in an unofficial finish of 1:35:20, leading Swiss stars Catherine Debrunner and Manuela Schär by more than two minutes. She becomes the fifth American woman to win multiple wheelchair titles, joining Tatyana McFadden, Cheri Blauwet, Jean Driscoll, and Candace Cable-Brookes.

Ethiopian Sisay Lemma broke out of the pack early and won the Boston Marathon men’s race Monday with a time of 2:06:17. Evans Chebet, who was seeking to become the first man in 16 years — and fifth ever — to win the Boston Marathon three times in a row, placed third.
Defending champion Hellen Obiri captured her second Boston Marathon win in a row Monday with a time of 2:22:37.
The day began with the elite wheelchair racers. Defending champion Marcel Hug of Switzerland broke a course record and won his seventh men’s title on Monday. Great Britain’s Eden Rainbow-Cooper won the women’s wheelchair title with a time of 1:35:11.
