Caitlin Clark Teammate Turns Heads With New Photos After Blowout Win

Caitlin Clark made her long-awaited return to the basketball court on May 4 as the Indiana Fever took the court for a game against Brazil’s international team.

The Iowa native missed the team’s first preseason game on Saturday, May 3 with a leg injury – she was held out as a precaution – but she wasn’t going to miss Sunday’s game played at her alma mater’s stadium. Following the 108-44 blowout victory, Clark, who dropped 16 points to go along with six rebounds and five assists, admitted she was nervous.

“I haven’t played [a game] in, like 200 days, so I was a little nervous going in,” Clark said. “The competitive spirit in me — you just want to play really good for these fans.”

Returning to Carver-Hawkeye Arena was certainly a special moment for the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer. “It’s hard to put it into words what exactly it means to me,” Clark said. “It’s almost overwhelming. I’m just very thankful to come back to a place that continues to support me.”

While Clark was the star of the show, she certainly wasn’t the only one catching the attention of fans. Fever newcomer Sophie Cunningham, who was acquired via trade this offseason, has made a splash in the first two preseason games, scoring 27 points and adding 11 rebounds.

Her play on the court is bringing her plenty of attention, but her latest social media post is what has fans talking on Sunday night. “a fresh of breath air,” she said showing off the latest photos from the team’s media day.

The comments section was flooded by her fans and followers.

“The red is too good on you,” one person said.

“Sophie season,” offered another.

“stunnningggg miss girl 🔥,” added a third.

Cunningham and the Fever kick off their regular season on May 17.
