The 2025 college basketball transfer portal is officially open. For the next 30 days, players will flood into the portal, putting their names back on the market for new homes. The portal will close on Tuesday, April 22.

Last year, more than 2,000 players hit the portal and we are once again expecting another massive amount of transfers this season, including some of the biggest names in the sport.

While the transfer portal opened today, for the last two to three weeks, players have been entering the portal in two different ways.

1. Graduate transfers can enter the portal at any time, making up for the overwhelming majority of names already inside.

2. Players who experienced a coaching change whether by firing or hiring.
