Cooper Kupp Rumors: Patriots Not Among Named Updated Suitors

The New England Patriots still need a leading wide receiver and Cooper Kupp is now available.

New England addressed several other needs in free agency but still searches for a major pass-catcher for franchise quarterback Drake Maye. With Kupp now released from the Los Angeles Rams, his market could heat up soon.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport shared his belief on “The Insiders” Wednesday evening that Kupp would have a “pretty strong” market that could hover around the $12 million AAV range. Rapoport specifically named the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Houston Texans, the New Orleans Saints and the Seattle Seahawks.

Kupp totaled 67 catches for 710 yards in 2024 with six touchdown as Los Angeles made its way to the NFC Divisional round. There’s a proven veteran on the market and the Patriots have every reason to pursue him.
