Sometimes an athlete has a night where everything works out, Daniel Cormier, for example, had this against Dan Henderson.

And it’s fair to say March 22, 2025, belonged to Wyatt Hendrickson as he produced the performance of a lifetime to beat Gable Stevenson.

In an awe-inspiring moment, the underdog shot for a late takedown, leaving Cormier in a state of amazement, screaming: “The Olympic champion is about to lose.”

As the contest ended, the former two-weight UFC champion’s co-commentator shrieked: “This could be it. The biggest upset in the history of NCAA. Yes, he has done it.”

Astonished by what he’d seen, Daniel Cormier exclaimed: “Wyatt Hendrickson just beat Gable Stevenson.”

He later tweeted: “Shut up! That was the craziest endings in NCAA wrestling history. What a moment. I’m so lucky to say I was here.”

Hendrickson just made an enormous splash with this victory undeniably going down in wrestling history.

His crowning moment over a 4x Olympic gold medallist, couldn’t have meant much more to him.

As per MMA Fighting, he said: “Today, I took the gold medal, I’m No. 1. I was telling myself I know I can do this. God gifted me.

“All week, I’ve been looking at David and Goliath, and no one thought David could take down Goliath, but I did.”
