Detroit Lions cornerback Amik Robertson shared some of the last text messages he sent to late LSU wide receiver and draft prospect Kyren Lacy after Lacy died of an apparent suicide on Saturday night. Robertson and Lacy were high school teammates.

The messages in part reads: “I don’t know what happened ‘cause I don’t wanna get into that. But, if you are in the wrong, everyone makes mistakes. It’s all a learning process. Keep faith brodie. I’m always here right or wrong.”

Late Saturday night, police in Harris County, Texas discovered Harris in a crashed car during a police pursuit. Police reportedly said he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound before the crash.

Lacy was arrested in December after being accused of causing a car collision that killed a 78-year-old man in Lafourche Parish, Louisiana. After turning himself into police, Lacy was charged in January with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run and reckless operation of a vehicle, according to reports.
