The Indiana Fever have now won back-to-back games in the preseason after defeating Brazil’s national team, 108-44, on Sunday.
It was an extra special day for Fever star Caitlin Clark as she made an emotional return to Iowa’s Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Even though she only played 19 minutes, she delighted fans with her hot shooting. She finished with 16 points, built on 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc. She also had six rebounds and five assists.

The 23-year-old Clark has become immensely popular, even the Brazilian players approached her after the game to ask for her autograph. It’s further proof of the global appeal of the former Iowa standout, who will enter her second season in the WNBA.
Aside from her interaction with her opponents, a video shared by the WNBA showed that the Fever guard also hugged her former Iowa teammates Gabbie Marshall, Jada Gyamfi and Kennise Johnson and her former Iowa coaches Lisa Bluder and Jan Jensen.
“A bond that will never be broken 💛🖤,” said the WNBA on Instagram. “Caitlin Clark shared a special moment with her Iowa family after the Fever’s preseason win vs. Brazil!”
Fans didn’t hide their joy over the post.

“Once a Hawkeye always a Hawkeye,” added another fan.
“Why does this make me cry lol ❤️,” wrote a follower.

“OMG! Love this so much!” said a fan.
Clark led the Hawkeyes to back-to-back appearances in the national title game in the women’s NCAA Tournament and three straight championships in the Big Ten. She finished her college career as the NCAA Division I’s all-time leader in points, both men’s and women’s.
Clark sat out their previous assignment against the Washington Mystics due to a leg injury.

The Fever will close out their preseason against the Atlanta Dream on May 10.
