Gabrielle Union and her daughter Zaya Wade were along for the ride at Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter Chitlin Circuit Rodeo Tour’s first stop. On Monday, they were in Los Angeles celebrating the first stop on the anticipated live project, stopping by a celebration by H&M.

For the kickoff, Union and Wade both went western-inspired. Union wore a leather fringe crop top and mini skirt both in brown. She also chose a brown cowboy hat and wrapped a handkerchief around her neck. Wade chose a simple white minidress featuring pockets with oversized stitching details. She also wore an easy blue denim jacket.

For shoes, they unsurprisingly wore cowboy boots. For hers, Union chose a pair of below-the-knee boots from Tecovas. A brand known for their western-style boots, she selected The Abby style. That shoe includes a 17-inch shaft that boats flame stitching. There’s also a demure 2-inch stacked heel. It also includes the signature Tecovas bug — the design of line stitching on the front of the boot.

Wade also chose boots. Though hers were less distinct, they also were made of leather. The shaft appeared wider than The Abby. Similarly to Union’s shoe, there was also a short, 2-inch stacked heel. These heels are typical of cowboy boots.
Brands like Billini and Steve Madden offer similar styles.

Over the past few years, cowboy boots have seen a renaissance of sorts. While they’ve always had a place at events like the Country Music Awards, and in the country sector massive tours like Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour as well as Beyonce’s Renaissance World Tour have put more emphasis on them. Fashion brands like Louis Vuitton and Christian Louboutin have offered high-end versions as well. Pair that with the release of the “Cowboy Carter” album and now the tour and cowboy boots are getting a major moment in culture, worn on red carpets, in the trending western line dance classes and on the streets.
