Boasting a $25 million prize purse and taking place on a par-72, 7,245-yard course, the 2025 Players Championship has provided plenty of action for fans this week. And Sunday’s final round should be no different.
The golfers in contention for the win on Sunday are American J. J. Spaun and fellow American Bud Cauley, who head into the final round at 12 under par and 11 under par, respectively. Two other golfers are within three strokes of the lead at nine under par: Alex Smalley and Lucas Glover.

Spaun is a 34-year-old golfer who attended San Diego State University. He has one PGA Tour win under his belt thus far in his career, so he will be looking for his second this weekend. Spaun’s best finish at a major was a 23rd-place showing at the 2022 Masters Tournament.
Cauley, meanwhile, is 35 years old and is a University of Alabama alum. Cauley has never won on the PGA Tour, though he does boast a Korn Ferry Tour to his name. Cauley’s best finish at a major was 32nd place at the 2013 Open Championship.
