The season couldn’t have started much better for the St. Louis Cardinals as they head into this three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels. The Cardinals are coming off a three-game series sweep against the Minnesota Twins. After a very slow start in the season-opener, the Angels turned it around winning the final two games against the Chicago White Sox to win the series. The Angels will be going for their third win in a row but St. Louis will the favorite tonight with a -135 line in its corner.

St. Louis only gave up six runs in three games against Minnesota. The Cardinals dominated in the series finale on Sunday beating the Twins 9-2. Victor Scott II and Pedro Pages fueled the St. Louis in the finale each hitting a three-run homer. St. Louis was up 8-0 after the third inning and it never looked back. Andre Pallante got the win going five innings while only giving up four hits and two runs. Miles Mikolas will get the start tonight for the Cardinals. The veteran righty is coming off 10-11 season with 5.35 ERA in 171.2 innings pitched.
The Angels are coming off a 3-2 win in the rubber match against the White Sox on Sunday. The game was nearly delayed by three hours in the seventh inning. Both teams scored two runs in the first inning. Another run wasn’t scored until the eighth inning when Kyren Paris homered on the first pitch he saw after the delay to effectively win the game. Veteran lefty Tyler Anderson will get the start in the opener against the Cardinals. Anderson made his most starts in his career with 31 last season going 10-15 with 3.81 ERA in 179.1 innings pitched which is also a career best.
