Following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack that killed 28, entrepreneur Kunal Bahl, former Snapdeal CEO, expressed his sorrow and announced he would no longer encourage tourism to Kashmir due to safety concerns. Bahl, who previously lauded Kashmir’s beauty, cited the recent attack in Baisaran Valley, where gunmen targeted tourists, as the reason for his changed stance.
Entrepreneur and former Snapdeal CEO Kunal Bahl has voiced his sorrow and frustration following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. Known for his admiration of Kashmir’s beauty and culture, Bahl shared his sentiments on social media, stating that he has always encouraged people to visit the region but will now stop doing so, citing safety concerns.
In his post, Bahl reflected on his past trips to Kashmir, describing it as one of India’s most stunning destinations. However, the recent attack has left him questioning the risks involved in promoting tourism to the region. His remarks have sparked a broader conversation about the balance between showcasing Kashmir’s natural beauty and addressing the ongoing security challenges.
“Beauty of Pahalgam from my last trip. Despite people’s fear of going to Kashmir, I have always been the voice that’s been telling those around me to go experience its beauty, culture. Probably the best tourist destination of. I will stop doing that now. Not worth the risk,” posted Bahl on X.
The Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025, marked one of the deadliest assaults in Jammu and Kashmir in recent years, claiming 28 lives and leaving over 20 injured. The attack occurred in the picturesque Baisaran Valley, a popular tourist destination, where gunmen opened fire on a group of tourists. Eyewitness accounts revealed that the assailants targeted victims based on their faith, asking them to recite religious verses before shooting. The Resistance Front (TRF), a Lashkar-e-Taiba affiliate, claimed responsibility for the attack, which has drawn widespread condemnation from political leaders and civil society.
