TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A cold front will bring showers and storms through this morning. A few storms could be strong or possibly severe. The main hazard would be strong winds of 40 to 60 mph, but a brief tornado cannot be ruled out.
Citrus, Hernando, and Pasco County storms will move through from about 6 am to 10 am. Pinellas, Hillsborough, parts of Polk, and coastal Sarasota and Manatee Counties will see the storms from about 8 am to 11 a. DeSoto, Hardee, and Highlands County will see storms from about 10 am to 2 pm.
The storms will clear out by 2 pm from most areas with the exception of a stray sprinkle.
A few clouds will linger this afternoon but winds will stay breezy as cooler air filters in today and tonight.
Lows will be in the mid-50s.
After the cooler start Tuesday morning, temps warm into the low to mid-70s which is below average.
A warming trend will begin Tuesday and high temps will be back in the low 80s by Friday.
It will stay dry through Saturday with the next cold front arriving Sunday or Monday.
