March Madness is in full swing and the second weekend of the women’s tournament begins on Friday with Sweet 16 action in Birmingham and Spokane.
To tip things off, we had a Tobacco Road Rivalry matchup, the first of its kind in the NCAA tournament. No. 2 Duke came out on top in a defensive battle, winning 47-38 over No. 3 North Carolina. Later, No. 1 South Carolina staved off No. 4 Maryland in a nail-biter and No. 3 LSU fought off No. 2 NC State for a win in the Spokane 1 region.
