Meghan Markle Sparks Outrage For Allegedly Passing Off ‘Store-Bought’ Waffles As ‘Homemade’ In St. Patrick’s Day Video

Meghan Markle faces backlash after sharing St. Patrick’s Day breakfast videos, as critics question whether the green waffles were homemade.

Keen-eyed viewers claimed the waffle maker used by the Duchess of Sussex may not have been what produced the waffles shown in the clips due to their patterns.

Despite the controversy, Meghan Markle is launching a new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, next month with Lemonada Media.

Meghan Markle Faces Backlash Over St. Patrick’s Day Waffle Video

Meghan has been hit by a fresh wave of criticisms after sharing a homemade St. Patrick’s Day breakfast with her children.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, took to Instagram on Monday, posting a series of clips of her and Prince Harry’s kids, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3, making green waffles from scratch.

“About this morning…” she captioned a video of herself stirring the batter, adding, “We love a theme” alongside a shot of matching green drinks.

However, some social media users weren’t convinced that the waffles were actually homemade.

Observant viewers pointed out that the finished waffles looked different from the ones that should have come out of the equipment she used.

“Did you see that what she put in the maker is not how the waffle would [look] if she indeed cooked them,” one person commented.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), another critic accused Meghan of unnecessary deception, writing, “Meghan Markle’s relentless compulsion to lie about everything is baffling — even over something as trivial as a waffle. She posted a video of herself using a waffle maker with a divider, yet the so-called ‘homemade’ waffle she presented looked exactly like a store-bought one, missing the dividers that should have been there.

The X user added, “Why stoop to such a pathetic, pointless lie? This constant need to twist reality and deceive—especially over something so insignificant—is deeply concerning. She seriously needs help!””

Meghan Markle’s Waffle Maker Was Reportedly A Gift From Queen Elizabeth To Prince Archie

According to People Magazine, the waffle maker spotted in Meghan’s St. Patrick’s Day video may have had a special connection to the late Queen Elizabeth.

Harry previously revealed that his grandmother gifted their son, Prince Archie, a waffle maker before her passing in 2022.

During a 2021 appearance on “The Late Late Show” With James Corden, Harry shared the story behind the unique present.

“My grandmother asked us what Archie wanted for Christmas, and Meg said a waffle maker,” he recalled. “She sent us a waffle maker for Archie. So breakfast now, Meg makes a beautiful organic mix in the waffle maker.”

Harry also added a sweet detail about their son’s morning routine, saying, “Archie wakes up in the morning and goes, ‘waffle.'”

Meghan Markle’s Culinary Series Was Renewed For A Second Season Despite Negative Reviews

The backlash against Meghan about her waffles comes after the release of her new Netflix culinary series, “With Love, Meghan,” faced harsh criticism.

Critics were quick to dismiss the show, with The Guardian calling it a “gormless lifestyle filler” and speculating it might be the Sussexes’ final TV project, while The Telegraph labeled it “insane” and an “exercise in narcissism.”

The Blast‘s Kristin Myers also gave a strong analysis of the show, criticizing the Duchess of Sussex for being “hilariously out of touch,” especially after urging viewers to reach out to their local beekeepers so they could create their own candles.

Despite the criticisms, Meghan scored a major win as the streaming giant quickly renewed the show for a second season.

Hollywood Actress Calls Out The Duke & Duchess Of Sussex

Adding to the backlash, “Family Ties” star Justine Bateman expressed her frustration with what she terms Meghan and Harry’s “Victim Olympics campaign.”

In a blog post titled “The Problem With Meghan Markle: It’s Not What She’s Doing, It’s the Victim Olympics Road She Took to Get There,” Bateman argued that audiences aren’t interested in watching “someone playact at something they didn’t earn.”

She asserted that “the problem with Meghan Markle (and her husband, Harry) is that every opportunity they have explored or exploited over the past few years has been due to their very aggressive Victim Olympics campaign.”

Bateman added: “The difference between doing that two years ago and doing it now is immense. It’s 2025, and no one wants to see victims anymore.”

Amid all the backlash, Meghan is set to launch a brand-new podcast next month under Lemonada Media.

Lemonada Media described the show as offering listeners “to be a fly on the wall as Meghan sits down for candid conversations with female founders and friends about the success, the struggles, and the never-before-told stories of building a business.”
