Missing college student’s family wants Dominican police to declare daughter dead, ABC says

WASHINGTON (7News) — The family of Sudiksha Konanki has sent a formal request to police in the Dominican Republic to declare their daughter deceased, ABC News reports.

In the letter, the Konanki family said they trust the authorities investigation and understand that certain legal procedures must be followed for their request, but that they are prepared to comply with any necessary documentation.

They also said in the letter that 24-year-old Joshua Riibe is cooperating with the investigation and they acknowledge there is no evidence of foul play, according to ABC News.

Riibe is believed to be the last person to see Konanki before her disappearance and is a person of interest in the case.
