Game Expectations
Following a strong Opening Day, in which they won 4-2 to stay undefeated to start the new season, the Yankees want to build on their winning ways. The Brewers, under manager Craig Counsell, are looking to even the series by exploiting Cortes’ knowledge of the Yankees’ batting order.
Veteran right-hander Max Scherzer is set to make his debut with the Blue Jays taking the mound. In four starts this spring training, Scherzer had 18 strikeouts, a 1.38 ERA, and only one walk. The Orioles’ right-hander, Dean Kremer, who is trying to build upon his last year’s performance, will be the pitcher he squares off against.
Meanwhile, the Mets and Astros are getting ready to finish up their season-opening series. Both teams are 1-1, and this final game is important in building an early-season vibe.
