National Burrito Day is April 3—Here are the best cheap restaurant deals

Burrito lovers across the United States will have reason to celebrate on April 3 as major restaurant chains launch promotions for National Burrito Day. The annual event, celebrated on the first Thursday of April, is marked by limited-time discounts and giveaways from major brands such as Chipotle, Qdoba, Moe’s Southwest Grill, and others.

From free burritos with purchase to sweepstakes offering food for a year, restaurants are enticing customers with new digital games and member-exclusive perks. National Burrito Day, while not an officially recognized holiday, has grown in popularity over the past decade as a springtime marketing tradition centered on one of America’s favorite handheld meals.

Why It Matters

National Burrito Day is a prime opportunity for fast-casual brands to engage loyal customers and attract new ones through rewards programs and social media promotions. Restaurants leverage the event to drive foot traffic and app engagement while showcasing new products and reward incentives.

“Last year, our Burrito Vault drove unprecedented fan engagement that resulted in our highest digital transaction day of all time,” Chipotle Chief Brand Officer Chris Brandt told Newsweek. “Now, we are giving them another chance to crack the code and score more free burritos.”

The day offers consumers a rare chance to enjoy their favorite meals at steep discounts—provided they know where to look.
