The Los Angeles Lakers made it back-to-back wins on Monday night as they scored an important victory against the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference, the Houston Rockets.
The game went down the wire, but the Lakers were able to hold on for a win at home, 104-98, to improve to 46-29.

LeBron James came up big for L.A. in crunch time as he sealed the victory with a crucial block on Rockets star Alperen Sengun with mere seconds remaining in the game clock.
Sengun thought he had a significant advantage over Lakers guard Austin Reaves down low for what would have been an easy deuce to move Houston to within two points. However, James came out of nowhere to completely erase Sengun’s attempt.
The NBA liked the block so much that they posted a second video showing a different angle of James’ clutch block. Once again, the NBA was left in disbelief by the Lakers star’s end-game heroics.

“LBJ came from the other side of the hoop for this volleyball swat 😱” the league posted on X.
James finished the game with 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in 38 minutes of action.
This was a crucial victory for the fourth-placed Lakers, who are now just 2.5 games behind the Rockets for the second seed in the West. The Denver Nuggets currently occupy the No. 3 spot with a 47-28 record, and are currently one game ahead of James and Co.
The Lakers have seven games remaining in the regular season, with their next one coming in the form of a mouth-watering matchup against Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Thursday at Crypto.com Arena.
