Friends that match together, stay together.

On Monday, April 28, Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King hit the opening night of Beyoncé‘s Cowboy Carter Tour at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. The duo attended the show in Western-inspired denim looks, nodding to the Grammy-winning country album.

In an Instagram post, King, 70, shared a carousel of photos and videos from the evening, showing off the group’s outfits. “Tonight’s the night! The outfits have been picked …@beyonce we are on the way 🤠🤠🤠,” she wrote in the caption.

In one shot, the CBS Mornings co-host poses with Winfrey, 71, along with two of their friends. Winfrey rocked an all-denim look with a floor-length, light-wash jacket that fades into white sheer fabric. She paired the coat with light-wash jeans, adding a white turtleneck and black sneakers. Her hair was worn down in voluminous waves.

Winfrey recently supported her longtime friend as she took part in the all-female Blue Origin space flight. On April 14, King joined singer Katy Perry, philanthropist Lauren Sánchez (the fiancée of Jeff Bezos), former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen and film producer Kerianne Flynn.

In an interview with E! News at the Time100 Gala in New York City on Thursday, April 24, King revealed what the legendary media mogul told her as soon as she completed the flight. “She was so welled up [with tears],” King recalled, adding, “I know she said at one point [that] she was proud of me.”

The broadcaster added that after seeing the video of Winfrey getting emotional while watching King blast off to space, people said, ” ‘Oh, she’s so worried. She thinks something’s gonna happen.'”

“That wasn’t it at all,” King clarified. “She was crying because she knew what it took for me to do that, and so when I came [back] she was saying, ‘I’m so proud of you. You did that and I’m so proud of you.'”

“This is the thing, she always said I was gonna be okay. And Oprah knows things,” she jokingly added.
