ATLANTA, GA. (WCIV) — Kenneth Edward Rashaad Bailey, known as Young Scooter, a popular rapper from Walterboro, died in Atlanta after a chase involving police Friday, according to multiple reports.

According to TMZ, Bailey was pronounced dead at Grady Marcus Trauma Center in Atlanta Friday night. He reportedly suffered a severe leg injury while fleeing officers on foot after police responded to an initial disturbance call.

Young Scooter was born in Walterboro, SC, where he lived before moving to Atlanta at the age of 9. There he would go on to work with artists including Future, Gucci Mane, and Waka Flocka Flame.

Bailey, 39, died on his birthday.
