CINCINNATI (WKRC) – For the second time in his head coaching career Sean Miller is reportedly leaving Xavier University.
The Austin American-Statesman reported on Sunday that Miller will be named head coach at the University of Texas. He will replace Rodney Terry, who was fired on Sunday.
Xavier beat Texas in a First Four NCAA Tournament game on March 19. The Musketeers were eliminated in a first round game by Illinois on March 21.
Miller had been head coach at Xavier since the 2022-2023 season and in three seasons compiled a 65-40 record. The Musketeers appeared in two NCAA Tournaments in that span, this season and in the 2022-23 season.
His first head coaching job came at Xavier in the 2004-05 season, and he remained in that position for five seasons before going to Arizona as head coach.
From 2004-09, his Xavier teams compiled a 120-47 record and went to the NCAA Tournament in each of his final four seasons.
He served as head coach at Arizona from 2009-21. His teams compiled a 302-109 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament seven times.
