Italy intentional Sandro Tonali celebrated Newcastle’s first trophy in 56 years on social media, receiving a passionate comment from club legend Alan Shearer: ‘Fu***** brilliant man!’

Newcastle beat Federico Chiesa’s Liverpool in the EFL Final on Sunday, winning their first piece of silverware in 56 years.

Tonali played the full 90 minutes and massively celebrated with his teammates after the final whistle.

The achievement was well worthy of a celebratory social media post, where Tonali appeared with the trophy.

“HISTORY MAKERS! Came to Wembley. Owned the moment. Took the trophy home,” wrote the ex-Milan star.

Tonali’s Instagram post received thousands of likes and hundreds of comments, including one from Newcastle legend Shearer.

The ex-striker was jubilant seeing his former club lift the cup and wrote: ‘Fu***** brilliant man!’

Tonali is part of the Italy squad facing Germany in the Nations League quarter-finals this week.

His compatriot Chiesa scored the only goal for Liverpool yesterday, but the winger is not part of Luciano Spalletti’s squad. Chiesa hasn’t played for the Azzurri since last summer’s Euros.
