Auburn basketball earned a win in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday by taking out Alabama State, 83-63 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.
The top-seeded Tigers got the win despite struggling offensively. Auburn shot 45% from the field while connecting on 31% of shots from three-point territory. Auburn’s trips to the free throw line were less than satisfactory as well, as the Tigers made just 18-of-32 attempts.
The good news was that Auburn played well enough defensively to secure the win. The Tigers allowed Alabama State to shoot 37% from the field while holding them to 24% shooting from three-point land. Miles Kelly was the bright spot for the Tigers as he scored 23 points and connected on eight three-point tries. Johni Broome notched another double-double for Auburn, scoring 14 points with 11 rebounds.
Auburn fans are undeniably proud to watch their team win a game, but they are nervous for the Tigers round of 32 game with Creighton on Saturday. Here are the best reactions to Auburn’s 20-point win over Alabama State on Saturday.

We won’t get fooled again!
Through the good and bad, here’s what we were all feeling
Definitely some concern heading into Saturday
A win is a win for Auburn, but if you play like that on Saturday, you’re going home.

No better time to clean it up than now
Auburn just toyed with this team and got sloppy at times doing it. Can’t afford it in any other round going forward. I’m sure they know that.

They scared us in the first half
The stripe can’t hurt us if we don’t let it.
All about perspective
18-32 from the FT line isn’t gonna cut it.Fortunately for Auburn, Creighton commits the least fouls in the country at only 11 per game.
But they may wanna invest in some.

We are pros at this by now
Another opportunity awaits!
It doesn’t matter unless it translates to better opponents BUT we all know Auburn has the talent to compete with anyone.
Getting momentum from a strong win, instead of playing at their level and still winning a close one, could go a long way in reminding this team who it is.
