Steelers announce jersey number for first-round draft pick

On Thursday night, the Pittsburgh Steelers drafted former Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon in the first round of the 2025 draft. Now we know what jersey number Harmon will wear as a member of the Steelers. The team announced on social media that Harmon will wear No. 99 this season.

Harmon wore No. 55 when he played at the University of Oregon which was a change from the No. 41 he wore at Michigan State. 55 is the number Harmon wore in high school as well.

Most recently, No. 99 was worn by Larry Ogunjobi, who Harmon is replacing in the starting lineup. Historically, so great Steelers have donned that jersey, including Levon Kirkland and Brett Keisel. There’s been no official word yet on what jersey number new running back Kaleb Johnson will wear. Johnson wore No. 2 at Iowa but it’s unlikely he keeps that number in the NFL.
