A Buffalo Bills rival just drafted “The Next Josh Allen.”

Or, at least that’s the way one wag sees it.

When Super Bowl champion coach Jon Gruden first worked for ESPN as an analyst at the start of the 2010s, he became well-regarded for his “QB Camp” show during which he would interview signal-callers of the rookie class and test how good they could be in the classroom.

It was smart and fun and insightful.

Gruden is back at it again, this time with Barstool Sports.

And his latest interview with Ohio State quarterback Will Howard has people stunned over his NFL comparison … even moreso now that Howard has been drafted by a Bills rival.

Breaking down the play of the national champion, Gruden made it clear that Howard’s play and size reminded him of Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen.

“You’re a big, dual-threat quarterback, aren’t you?” Gruden said to Howard. “That’s the MVP of the league. He’s a real big dual threat.

“How the (heck) do people not like you as the No. 1 quarterback in the draft? You’re like a young Josh Allen.”’

Well, “people did not like him” quite that much.

Th͏e Pitt͏sburgh Steel͏ers used the 185th overall͏ pick ͏in the six͏th round of the draft to take How͏ard͏.

So … the NFL believes Howard is an inferior prospect even to Shedeur Sanders, who infamously slid to Cleveland in the fifth round.

Gruden’s comments were and are quite staggering.

The Bills quarterback was a first-round selection in 2018 and is coming off his first MVP trophy.

Allen threw 28 touchdowns to just six interceptions while leading the Bills to their fifth straight AFC East division title. Along the way, he picked up 12 extra touchdowns and 500 yards rushing.

Howard, to his credit, threw for over 4,000 yards and 35 touchdowns while leading Ohio State to their first National Title in close to a decade.

But they’re both in the NFL now. And Gruden is fired up about his guy.

“Congratula͏tions͏ on becoming a Pittsburgh ͏Steeler,͏ Will!͏ Have a beer to celebrate then͏ get to work!” Gruden wrote in a message on X.
