Timeline of Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino’s breakup clarified

Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino reportedly broke up two months before it made headlines.

The couple separated in January after more than six years of dating, a source told TMZ on Monday.

The actress, 27, was last photographed with the businessman, 41, on Jan. 20 while out in New York City.

The now-exes looked tense as they exited a building in NoMad during Sweeney’s break from filming “The Housemaid.”

Weeks later, TMZ reported that they postponed their wedding, which had been scheduled for May.

Although sources claimed at the time that the decision was due to their busy schedules, Sweeney raised eyebrows in February when she reportedly checked into the Beverly Hills Hotel without Davino.

The producer was spotted at their Los Angeles mansion during the “Euphoria” star’s month-long stay at the swanky spot, further fueling split speculation.

Sweeney seemingly confirmed the rumors when she deleted a photo of herself kissing Davino from her Instagram last month.

Days later, a source told Us Weekly that the two, who got engaged in 2022, were “having major issues but are not fully split.”

“Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet,” the insider shared. “They are working on their relationship but have called off the wedding for now.”

Sweeney’s “very busy” career was reportedly a point of contention between the two, and she “wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”

Although the couple seemingly tried to work things out, news broke Monday that they had ended things for good.

An insider told People that Sweeney “is exactly where she wants to be” now.

“Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects,” the source said.

“What did make her overwhelmed, though, was her relationship and her wedding. She didn’t feel right about it.”

The insider noted that the pair simply wanted different things, as Davino was ready for marriage and a family while Sweeney is “in the middle of a magical career.”

“She’s not ready to settle down,” the source claimed. “They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off. They didn’t split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now.”

Although the “White Lotus” alum has yet to publicly address the situation, she has been very active on social media in recent weeks.

Sweeney also popped up in Dallas over the weekend for Leslie Powell’s wedding. She sent the internet into a frenzy after she and the bride’s brother, Glen Powell, were spotted together at a restaurant before the nuptials.

Fans have been rooting for the “Anyone But You” co-stars to get together ever since their undeniable chemistry made headlines in 2023 during the rom-com’s press tour.
