Tracking damage after severe storms hit west Georgia, metro Atlanta

ATLANTA — Severe storms moved into west Georgia and metro Atlanta late Saturday and continuing past midnight on Sunday morning, bringing strong winds, lightning, rain and generating a tornado warning at one point.

Around 12:30 a.m., the storm system was still impacting portions of west Georgia and the northwest Atlanta metro, including a flash flood warning for areas of Cobb, Douglas, Bartow, Carroll, Floyd, Haralson, Paulding and Polk counties.
