USMNT vs. Canada, Concacaf Nations League Third Place Match: Community player ratings

The USMNT March window came to a close with a second straight defeat, this time in the third place match to their recent rival Canada. Mauricio Pochettino elected for five new starters from Thursday’s lineup with three new starters across the backline, as well as Diego Luna and Patrick Agyemang being added to the attack. Unfortunately the results were effectively the same. While the match had more spark to it in general it still ended with the US losing by a goal.

Canada opened the scoring midway through the first half before Agyemang tied it up in the 35th minute. However, Jonathan David added a second for Canada 15’ minutes into the second half and the US were never able to recover.

It was “only” a third place match, and some of Pochettino’s choices have us wondering if perhaps he was treating it as a glorified friendly but the players on the field were clearly taking it seriously and the US came up short for the second time in less than a week. After all that we’d like to know what your player rankings are and who you would select as the SSFC Man of the Match. Instead of giving you our player ratings, we want to know what you think. Below is a ratings form for you to fill out with ratings for each USMNT player’s performance.
