PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Arkansas basketball continues its postseason journey today in a showdown between Hall of Fame coaches with a long list of ties that bond them.
John Calipari and the No. 10 Razorbacks (21-13) will face Rick Pitino and No. 2 St. John’s (31-4) Saturday in the second round of the men’s NCAA Tournament. The winner advances to the Sweet 16, where they will face either Texas Tech or Drake in the West Region.

Calipari and Pitino both coached at Kentucky and in the NBA. They’re the only coaches to lead three different programs to the Final Four and have 114 NCAA Tournament wins between them. Calipari holds an 14-10 advantage in their 24 collegiate meetings.
Arkansas advanced to the second round thanks to a 79-72 victory over Kansas Thursday. Later that night, the Red Storm knocked off Omaha by 30 points thanks to a dominant second half.
