After years of fans crossing their fingers, longtime ‘good guy’ Cena has finally gone bad. He bids to take the Undisputed WWE title from Rhodes in the Night 2 main event, and we reckon Cena will do just that – breaking Ric Flair’s record of 16 world-title wins, in what is Cena’s final year as a wrestler.
Despite his character’s vow to retire as champion, we predict Cena will have some nostalgic clashes with the likes of CM Punk and Randy Orton before honouring tradition and retiring on a loss (perhaps dropping the belt back to Rhodes at the end of the year).

Fans tend to respect Paul’s incredible athleticism and how quickly he has taken to professional wrestling, but they are still desperate to see veteran Styles get the win here. Paul can afford a loss more than Styles, who we’ll pick to get the nod after the opponents produce some high-flying, viral moment.

This Women’s World Championship match might follow a similar pattern to the Rollins-Punk-Reigns triple threat; the expectation is that Ripley or Belair will walk away with the belt, with champion Sky an afterthought at times in the build-up.
That might have been intentional, setting up Ripley and Belair to be overly focused on each other, allowing Sky to grab a win and keep the gold.

And let’s go back to The Rock for a moment.
Will he show up tonight? Many fans think he will, to help Cena beat Rhodes…

In pro wrestling, ‘good’ characters are called ‘babyfaces’ and ‘bad’ characters are ‘heels’. Cena spent most of his career as a babyface, having last been a heel in the early-mid 2000s – until February’s Elimination Chamber event, where he attacked Rhodes and joined forces with The Rock.
This is part of a storyline in which Cena, during his final year as a pro wrestler, is desperate to win a record-breaking 17th world championship. Rhodes is WWE’s biggest babyface, while The Rock is a heel authority figure, given Dwayne Johnson’s real-life position on the board of TKO (WWE’s ownership group).

You might have noticed in that last post, Randy Orton is without an opponent tonight, but he WILL compete.
He was due to face Kevin Owens, until Owens suffered a severe neck injury recently.
He is out indefinitely (we actually shared an elevator with him in Allegiant Stadium yesterday!), meaning Orton has issued an open challenge.
It’s been theorised that Orton could face a returning Rusev or Aleister Black, who recently left AEW after their prior spells in WWE.
But could SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis make his own return to the ring instead? Or could Scottish sensation Joe Hendry give the crowd a good pop?
